It doesn’t matter if your pet is on the naughty or nice list. Your four-legged family member will have a chance to hang out with Santa while helping homeless animals at the same time. Santa will be visiting Heartland Animal Shelter on Friday, December 11 from 5 – 8 pm for pet pictures with Santa. For a $5 donation to the shelter, you may have your pet’s picture (and kids or family as well) taken with Santa. Electronic photos will be sent out after the event, in plenty of time to be included with the family Christmas card.
During these tough economic times, Heartland is also in need of donations of items from their wish list from canned cat and kitten food (non-fish flavored), canned dog and puppy food, to towels, blankets, and newspapers. More items are listed at the shelter Web site at www.heartlandanimalshelter.net/WishList.html. This is a great time to stop by the shelter to visit the animals and to enjoy some holiday cheer!
Heartland Animal Shelter is a no-kill, non-profit shelter located at 2975 Milwaukee Avenue in Northbrook. Last year, over 1,100 dogs and cats found homes thanks to Heartland.
