Pet-O-Palooza West
Peoria, AZ - April 5th, 2009 - Over 4,200 people and 3,000 dogs attended the first Pet-O-Palooza last year. This year with the addition of dockdogs Nationals and the Flying Disc Dog Open Nationals the attendance is expected to double. Qualifying for dockdogs and Flying Disc Dogs will be held April 3rd and 4th in the stadium, event participants and media only.
Families also will be able to see cats and dogs that are up for adoption and even take one home. Entertainment will include, PHADD High Flying Dog Show, a Lure Racing Course that your dog can experience, food vendors and the bands Power, featuring Jack Duchene winner of the Las Vegas Guitar Wars, and Breakdown, a Tom Petty-tribute band that performed at the NFL Experience during Super Bowl XLII.
Saving Homeless Animals
A portion of ticket sales will benefit the Arizona Animal Welfare League, and the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Tickets cost $7 per adult and $5 for those 10 and under. The event is dog-friendly, but animals must be leashed and have a gentle disposition.
Balloon Release for Canine Cancer Foundation
At approximately 2:00pm during Pet-O-Palooza there will be a huge balloon release for all the dogs that have passed away due to cancer. Participants can purchase a balloon for $1.00 and participate in the balloon release. All proceeds go to the Canine Cancer Foundation.
