Pet Costume Contest at Dog’s Night Out at Ritter’s on Monday, October 8
A special edition of “Dog’s Night Out” will feature a Halloween Pet Costume Contest at Ritter’s Frozen Custard in Anderson. The event to benefit Countryside Animal Rescue is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, October 8. Ritter’s is located in Anderson at Scatterfield Road and Charles Street at the entrance to the new Wal-Mart store.
The costume contest is slated for 7:00 p.m. and pets will be judged in various categories to receive Ritter’s Frozen Custard and other prizes to contest winners. The categories include, Most Original, Best Pet & Owner Look-A-Likes, Funniest and Best Pair. Cats are invited to attend the special edition of Dog’s Night Out and are encouraged to wear a costume. A special “Best Cat” category has been added to the competition. There is no charge to enter the pet contest and admission is free for the event.
The traditions of the series continue with a free small dish of frozen vanilla custard for each dog with the purchase of any human custard treat. Ritter’s will donate proceeds from the evening to assist Countryside Animal Rescue’s pet education, animal welfare and spay/neutering programs.
The Halloween edition is a feature of the Rally to Rescue program series in cooperation with Purina Pro Plan products. Representatives of the pet welfare will be available during the evening to discuss pet education, upcoming spay and neutering events, volunteer opportunities and their foster home programs. Complete information on pets available for adoption, is available on the internet at www.countrysideanimalrescue.org.
Mike Kase of Countryside Animal Rescue reminds everyone that dogs must have their owners on a leash at all times and dogs are not allowed to share their free custard treat with their owners.
