The third of the weekly lunchtime lectures, entitled "Personal views on total design", with a talk by Tristram Carfrae (Chair, Arup Buildings Sector). The series is intended to be a showcase for some of our senior and most experienced designers to present their views on the multidisciplinary design philosophy that Ove Arup first articulated as ‘total architecture’, and which we today know as ‘total design’. Ove Arup recognised that the best design solutions were founded on a highly interactive collaboration of designers from a wide range of disciplines. This multidisciplinary approach is a significant contributing factor to the success of Arup as a firm, and is an integral part of our design culture. This lecture is being held at New London Architecture, at the Buildings Centre, 26 Store Street, London, just off Tottenham Court Road.
