Gamelan is the enchanting Southeast Asian orchestra that includes gongs, chimes, xylophones, flutes, and drums. The tradition has been maintained in Indonesia and Malaysia, fascinating Westerners since the 1500s. Richard North, director, will introduce us to the history and music of Gamelan through masks, batiks, and puppets.
