Performance And the Printed Word - cultural programme May 5, 2009

Word and the Arts are two sides of the same coin. Each compliments the other. While the word interprets and elaborates the various aspects of creativity in Performing Arts, the Arts are inspired by the rich repository of Sahitya or Literature. Sangeet Natak Akademi and The Federation of Indian Publishers have collaborated to present 'Performance And the Printed Word' on one platform. The event will also have an exhibition and sale of books on music, dance and drama. Some of the well known artists who will participate in the two day event are: Dance: Anita Ratnam, Geeta Chandran, Shagun Butani, Sangeta Sharma, disciples of Smt Saroja Vaiyanathan, Yog Sunder and others. Theatre: Arvind Gaur, Govind Yadav, Rashi Bunny and others.
