K Space Contemporary is pleased to announce the opening of "Perfectly Strange", an exhibition of artworks featuring Matthew Guest and Curtis Miller. Both artists will provide a gallery discussion about their work at the opening reception on Sat. July 12 at 6:00pm. The exhibition runs through August 30.

Matthew Guest is Gallery Director and Assistant Professor of Art at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX. He received a BFA in printmaking from TCU and an MFA from the University of South Florida. Guest's paintings are rife with chaos and energy. Subjects as unrelated as wildlife, innerds and breakfast food merge into an atmosphere that is "exciting, mysterious, claustrophobic, frustrating and comfortable" all at once.

In contrast, the silkscreen monotypes of Curtis Miller are quiet, thoughful and introspective. Miller is a graduate of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi who now lives and works in San Marcos, TX. Miller explains his work as "compositions based on a loose narrative, involving a single spectrum of elements that allows for the creation of a systematic and fictitious culture for the characters within."
