Though screen printing was invented in China about 1,000 years ago and introduced in Europe more than 200 years ago, only in the last hundred years has it become a popular medium throughout the commercial and art worlds. Since Andy Warhol popularized this technique in the early 1960s, it has been used widely by major and emerging artists. This exhibition from the permanent collection includes works by Robert Indiana, Jacob Lawrence, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Rauschenberg, Miriam Schapiro and others.
