The show features photographic works by Berman, chronicling her four trips to Cuba in 1970, 1985,1993 and 2007, as well as other travels. “The first trip to Cuba was to participate in the harvest of sugar cane,” says Berman. “There was a big push to have the biggest sugar cane harvest ever. Cuba invited other countries to participate, and I went with a group of about 500 Americans. The Cuban government converted a cattle boat into dormitories to take us to and from Canada.”
Also included will be photographs from Berman's other travels to Korea, China, Mexico and Central America, Norway, and Kenya, as well as images from New Mexico. Some of these journeys were in conjunction with attending international women's conferences as part of Berman's other professional activities.
