The Penn State Behrend Concert Choir and Chamber Singers will be the featured performers in the next St. Boniface Concert Series event.

The choirs will perform at 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 17, at the church, 9367 Wattsburg Road. Admission is free and open to the public.

The centerpiece of the concert will be Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem Op. 48, a choral and orchestral setting of the Roman Catholic Mass for the Dead that is the best known of Fauré’s large works and a frequent addition to movie and television soundtracks. The soloists for the performance will be Penn State Behrend students Caroline Campanella and Evan Koser.

In addition to the Fauré, the choirs will perform works by Samuel Barber, Moses Hogan and Morten Lauridsen, and John Lennon and Paul McCartney. This program also will be performed during the choirs’ four-day mid-May tour of Cleveland, Detroit and Chicago.

The Penn State Behrend Concert Choir and Chamber Singers perform under the direction of Dr. Jason Bishop, director of choral activities. For additional information about the performance, contact St. Boniface Church at 814-825-4439.
