Pellissippi State Balloon Festival September 22, 2005

Colorful hot air balloons will rise over West Knoxville during the Pellissippi State Hot Air Balloon Festival 2005.

Activities are to begin Friday, Sept. 23, 4-9 p.m., at Pellissippi State Technical Community College on Hardin Valley Road and will continue Saturday, Sept. 24, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

The balloon festival will include children?s activities, local and national entertainment, food vendors, and arts and crafts. Proceeds will benefit the Pellissippi State Foundation, the main fundraising entity for the college.

Balloons are scheduled to fly Sept. 24 in the early morning and late afternoon, weather permitting. Also scheduled is a balloon ?glow? Sept. 23 at 8:30 p.m., next to the campus pond. Pilots will choreograph the lighting of their balloons to music.
