After a two year wait, Denver’s Folk Rock band Pee-Pee will launch their long awaited CD Castile Jackine is Vooded at Broonus Mousin: Volume Two on Saturday, September 4 at 8 p.m. at the Mercury Café, 2199 California St., Denver. Special guests Dream Machine (@ 8 p.m.) and Jason Webley (@10 p.m.) join Pee-Pee in the celebration. Tickets are only $10 and available by calling 303-294-9258 or at the door.

Named the Best Band with the Worst Name by Westword in 2007, Pee-Pee began playing together in 2004 and is known for its dynamic sound, eclectic ensembles, and the unforgettable songwriting of Doo Crowder. This experimental folk rock ensemble contains a string and horn section with an array of eclectic percussion, guitars, bass, accordion, saws and packed vocal harmonies. Pee-Pee describes itself as a folk-orchestra/music collective centered around the songwriting and whims of Doo Crowder whose interest is exploring expression of life in all its variety. Doo says, “This is a very special night for us as it's the culmination of our efforts as a folk orchestra/collective. We're releasing the second and final volume of our debut albumCastile Jackine is Vooded at Broonus Mousin. Volume One, released in 2008, was songs of personal feelings and different experiences of love mostly. Volume Two is the dark, apocalyptic counterpart, questioning and coming to terms with the conditions and conventions of the modern world. We are also honored to share the stage with Jason Webley, one of my personal heroes.”
Punk accordionist and world troubadour Jason Webley is described by the Seattle Times as "one of Seattle's most talented musicians." His relentless touring schedule has built him a cult following all over North America, Europe and Australia, as well as a large and loyal following in Russia.

Known for bellowing out apocalyptic dirges in a sandpaper baritone, most of his concerts end with the entire crowd locked arm-in-arm, singing. He has shared the stage with theDresden Dolls, the Avett Brothers, Devotchka and Regina Spektor, and has released five albums on his own label. Recently, Webley concluded a world tour as one half of the "Evelyn Evelyn" duo with long-time collaborator Amanda Palmer.

Beyond the accordion, Webley plays a variety of instruments - guitar, piano, and his trademark percussion instrument - a plastic vodka bottle full of coins gathered around the world. With degrees in sound engineering and theater, he produces all of his own albums and builds most of the elaborate props for his shows himself. The lino-cut prints that adorn several of his album covers and t-shirts are also carved by his own hand.
