cityscope is hosting Portland, Oregon’s first Pecha Kucha Night.
Pecha Kucha, Japanese for the sound of conversation, is a public event that creates a casual forum for designers, architects and artists to meet, show and discuss their work.
A diverse group of speakers are allowed 20 images, shown for 20 seconds each - giving 6 minutes & 40 seconds per presentation.
This is a demand that seems to be global - as Pecha Kucha Night, without any pushing, has spread virally to over 80 cities across the world. Find a location and join the conversation.
“A grown-up show-and-tell for those in, or interested in, the “creative industries”. - Times of London
“Say what you need to say in six minutes and 40 seconds of exquisitely matched words and images and then sit the hell down. The result, in the hands of masters of the form, combines business meeting and poetry slam to transform corporate cliché into surprisingly compelling beat-the-clock performance art. ” - WIRED Magazine
The theme of the Nov 12th event will be
City: Reflections and Perspectives on Urban Life
