Peace Train – The Cat Stevens Story is an exciting new show starring multi award winning Darren Coggan, based on the life of the world renown singer-songwriter Cat Stevens.
The show takes audiences on the same journey of enlightenment and discovery travelled by Cat himself, allowing an insight into the inner workings of one of the greatest singer-songwriters of all time. With huge success throughout the 1970’s, with over sixty million albums sold worldwide, Cat Stevens disappeared from the world stage at the height of his career and audiences wanted to know why.
Peace Train – The Cat Stevens Story features all of the songs that audiences around the world have sung along with, including Father & Son, Lady D'arbanville, Morning Has Broken, The Old School Yard, On The Road To Find Out, Wild World, Where Do The Children Play, Moonshadow, Matthew & Son, Hard Headed Woman, Sad Lisa, Longer Boats and many more.
Darren is a veteran of the stage having performed throughout Australia starring in Shout, Grease - The Arena Spectacular, Happy Days the Arena Mega Musical and most recently the lead role in John Williamson's Quambatook. He takes to the stage for his new production, alongside the firecats, to take audiences on an insightful and enchanting journey that was the life of the legend Cat Stevens.
"After meeting Cat Stevens in London, I knew when I got back to Australia that I just had to share my experience and what I had learnt;" said Darren Coggan. "Cat's timeless songs and his message of peace, tolerance and understanding are just as important in our world today as when they were first written, perhaps even more so". "This is a full theatrical experience with a positive and passionate narrative".
Darren has had several guest appearances in the Channel Seven hit television drama All Saints and most recently was awarded his second Golden Guitar at the 37th CMAA Country Music Awards for Heritage Song Of The Year, from his moving album War Stories.
