Peace Time Riot makes command performance

Columbus Rock trio returns to Newark

Myke Rock's Peace Time Riot (www.myspace.com/mykerockmusic, www.multifestival.com) is back by popular demand! On Saturday, February 10th, Peace Time Riot shared the bill with Muthe for their Newark debut at the Jono's . The overwelming crowd response made Peace Time Riot's return a no brainer. The date is Saturday, March 10th. The concert carries a $3.00 cover charge, which includes an opening sets by fellow Columbus band the Tech Rock Marauders and more, beginning at 8:00pm at Jono's (1551 W. Church St., Newark, 740-344-1100). "This time we'll play 2 sets and we're going to break out a couple brand new songs just for the occasion" , Rock proclaimed. Peace Time Riot has recently released an 11 track CD entitled Music For Brains & Bodies (PTR Group) and will have the disc available for sale at the event. Rock adds, "We really hope to pack Jono's for this event because we are recording it for possible release 'Live At Jono's' and we want an exuberant crowd on hand". Rock went on to say that he is considering producing part of his popular podcast "Myke Rock Radio: The Best Radio That Isn't" (www.multifestival.com, www.mykerockradio.multifestival.com) at the venue, producing and recording live performances and interviews, and that the turnout on the 10th will help make his decision.

Bassist Myke Rock founded Peace Time Riot in late 2006 to put his unique, solo-style electric bass chording to the tune of a rock trio consisting of bass, drums and guitar. As a descriptive term, rock trio doesn't really describe the band as a whole or in a nutshell. Heck, just throw the whole nutshell away. It's just a lot easier than saying Peace Time Riot is an indie, modern rock band that plays reggae, rock, ska, and much more, with a punk-reminiscent energy whose prolific lifeblood flows through the vociferous veins of variety. Rock, after a two month search, emerged with drummer General Oliver and former bandmate, guitarist Michael Ravage. Ravage founded early Columbus, Ohio punk band Screaming Urge in 1978 and Rock joined the band in 1979. Rock considers the General to be an incredible find and Ravage remains the rare, six-string bird that can meet the demands of Peace Time Riot's lofty quests.

Sounds Like The sound of the music is always important, as well as the lyrics. As far as who Tech-Rock Marauders sound like, well, thats for you to argue over. There are many different influences in their music. From Nine Inch Nails all the way to Depeche Mode.

The band originally formed a three piece band in 2005, called Bella Panache. The sound of that band was simple blues/rock. It eventually grew to a five piece band, called Past Point Blank. The band members were Mike ( lead guitar), Bud (Drums), Derik (rhythm guitar), Sam ( bass guitar), and of course the lead singer, Heather. Like everything in life, things and interests changed within the band. Eventually, Mike and Heather ventured onward to form Tech Rock Marauders.
