Peace Time Riot makes command performance
Columbus Rock trio returns to Troy
Myke Rock's Peace Time Riot (www.myspace.com/mykerockmusic, www.multifestival.com) is back by popular demand! On Friday, January 26th, Peace Time Riot shared the bill with Ohio Pie Factory for their Troy debut at the Brewery . The overwelming crowd response made Peace Time Riot's return a no brainer. The date is Friday, March 9th. The concert carries a $3.00 cover charge, which includes an opening set by Newark, Ohio's Muthe, beginning at 10:00pm at the Brewery (111 W. Water St., Troy, 937-339-8595). "This time we'll play 2 sets and we'll have our CD (Music For Brains & Bodies -PTR Group-) for sale", Rock said. "We normally charge $12 for it, but we love Troy so much we'll make it $10 just for fans at the Brewery show!"
Bassist Myke Rock founded Peace Time Riot in late 2006 to put his unique, solo-style electric bass chording to the tune of a rock trio consisting of bass, drums and guitar. As a descriptive term, rock trio doesn't really describe the band as a whole or in a nutshell. Heck, just throw the whole nutshell away. It's just a lot easier than saying Peace Time Riot is an indie, modern rock band that plays reggae, rock, ska, and much more, with a punk-reminiscent energy whose prolific lifeblood flows through the vociferous veins of variety. Rock, after a two month search, emerged with drummer General Oliver and former bandmate, guitarist Michael Ravage. Ravage founded early Columbus, Ohio punk band Screaming Urge in 1978 and Rock joined the band in 1979. Rock considers the General to be an incredible find and Ravage remains the rare, six-string bird that can meet the demands of Peace Time Riot's lofty quests.

Drummer Tate Bosley and Bassist Craiger D round out the hard-hitting trio that continually proves 3 is just enough of a crowd to fuel there very own voltage overload. As of January 2007, Muthe (pronounced m-youth) will be upgrading their performance schedule, playing up to 5 times a month throughout Ohio and eventually the Midwest. So, keep an eye out for a three-man riotous, rollicking, raucous, and say hello to Muthe!
