Portland Final Cut Pro User Group's next meeting is Tuesday, February 3rd.
The main presentation this month will be given by local W+K editor, David Jahns:
"HD, SD, and You - Can't We All Just Along"? A technical primer on the new era of video.
Video used to be relatively simple - at least it always had the same frame rate and same image size. WIth the transition to HD, there are dozens of video formats to work with - 1080 & 720, frame rates of 24, 30, or 60, interlaced/progressive, HDV, DVCPro HD, XDCAM, AVCHD, Red 4k, etc... How do we work with all of these formats and deliver both in 16-9 HD and in 4-3 SD without losing your mind?
David Jahns is an editor and overall technical guru at Joint Editorial, Wieden & Kennedy's in house post production facility.
