It's no mean feat to run a hardware store in this day and age - between the Home Depot, the inability of the average American to fix anything, and the willingness of local juggernaut Fred Meyer to sell above average Americans most of what they need, it's a hard knock life.
All the more reason, then, to recall the joys of a small hardware store, smartly organized. Such a place is the Pearl's ACE hardware, and it just so happens to have an adorable restaurant next door. A sort of eerie symbiosis emerges upon inspection - ACE will send you home with everything you need to build a deck, and Nancy's will provide an oven-ready package of down-home eats, ready to be warmed while you work into the evening....I dunno, I'm waxing poetic, but trust me, the food is yummy.
As always, buy your own breakfast, then join some number of intrepid souls as they wander through ACE and dream of PVC robots with colander antenna arrays...

Tempting. And conveniently close to Saint Cupcake. Mmm... overpriced, undersized cupcakes that I still end up buying.
