Paws for Equality October 10, 2009

The Empowering Spirits Foundation, MyOutSpirit.com, and the Henrico Humane Society have joined together for “Paws for Equality” on October 10th. The service project is part of the nationwide LGBT Day of Service celebrating this year's "Come Out Spiritually" theme for Coming Out Day.

Volunteers will assist with the transportation of dogs from the shelter to Petco, and assist with the attempt to find the dogs a loving home as customers enter and exit the store.

It is our hope that in working side-by-side with our non-LGBT neighbors they may come to see similarities rather than differences in each of us, and that we can engage in dialogue through non-confrontational means to promote equality.
