On October 23, 2009, the Paws for a Cause painted dogs go up for auction at Birch Meadow Banquet Facility, 76 East Dudley Town Road, Bloomfield, CT. This is your chance to own one of twenty-nine exciting artistic creations and to display it proudly in or around your home, in your garden, on your front porch or at your place of business while supporting the Windsor Education Foundation. Tickets are $30 per person, which includes a buffet dinner and bidding paddle for the auction. A few select items will be available in addition to the imaginatively decorated dogs. Proceeds benefit the Windsor Education Foundation.

Paws for a Cause Dog has been a summer-long event including the public art exhibition of the amazing painted dogs at sponsor locations, the popular Dog Hunt contest, in which a $1,000 savings bond was given to one lucky winner, and a Movie Night that included a spaghetti and meatball dinner and the movie “Lady and the Tramp.” The grand finale, the Paws for a Cause Dog Auction, will take place on October 23rd at Birch Meadow Banquet Facility in Bloomfield.

All twenty-nine beautiful art dogs will be available for purchase at the auction. Meet the sponsors and artists who will be happy to discuss the ideas behind their designs. Over one hundred artists submitted designs. Twenty-nine designs were chosen by the businesses and private citizens who sponsored the dogs.

Once the chosen artists got their hands on the dog forms, their creativity flowed and some incredibly unique creations came about. Some prime examples are the standing dog named Puzzles who is a tribute to Autism Awareness, a top-hatted bull dog named Grand Marshal, Shad Derby, the Duke of Windsor, a beautiful rendition on Windsor’s landmarks and landscape created by famed artist Karen Rossi, and Jackson Pawllock, a lovable, paint-spattered dog. All the dogs are amazing! Come and see this fun art exhibit up for auction and take home a piece of artwork for your own.
