Lonesome two-step laments seamlessly segue into revolutionary punk-folk exhortations, and rueful finger-picked blues make way for sardonic old-time rave ups--Paul M. Davis' music ranges from meditative finger-picked folk songs to gypsy-like jump numbers, indie pop to punk-grass.
After performing across the west coast for ten years solo and in his band, Mule Train, Davis relocated to the Chicago area in early '06. He is currently working on a new solo album for release in early 2007.
"Tom Waits-like desperate musings about drinking your sorrows away. The strong country influences sparkle brightly over the duration of the twelve acoustic performances. There is something incredibly endearing in Paul's lyrics and performance. 'Drinking in the Park' and 'Falling Star' are worth the price of admission alone." .. Punk Planet ..58
"Davis knows how much you hate it every time an acoustic-guitar-strapped dufus gets up to show you "his words" at open mic night. If ever the genre had an anti-hero, it's Paul Matthew Davis. It's about time we had one I care about." .. Splendid E-Zine
