Patrick Elkins and a small army of noise-folk soldiers present the release of their eighth full length album: "Beating Heart of a Crew" (Chew Your Own Records). Recorded deep inside the catacombs of the Worm Farm in Ypsilanti, "Beating Heart of a Crew" is a story of narcotics, snow, the ladies of Baltimore, and 22,362 people who all eat the same water.
Martes Martes offers uncompromised explorations of animal consciousness. Their most recent release ["dragon cat fox cat scan"] is described as an attempt to "capture all the joy, suffering and longing of all those creatures pushed aside by the relentless march of human progress."
The Dreamland Puppet Troupe is the brainchild of Naia Venturi, who (with the help of various cohorts) uses hand-made marionettes, string and rod puppets to tell "clever, creative, surreal and, above all, humorous" [Current Magazine] tales. Viewers may want to bring a towel.
