Canadian mezzo-soprano singer Patricia O’Callaghan has been making waves since she burst on the music scene with her first CD release in 1997. Little surprise, given her many talents.
Trained as an opera singer, Patricia records and performs an eclectic musical mix – mostly of European cabaret-style music by such composers as Frances Poulenc, Erik Satie and Kurt Weill – but she also includes in her repertoire songs by Leonard Cohen and Elvis Costello.
Patricia’s stage appearances include The Three Penny Opera by Soulpepper Theatre Company as well as Christos Hatzis’ Constantinople which toured Toronto, Montreal and the Royal Opera House in London. She has also toured internationally in Claude Vivier's Kopernikus.
She recently appeared on jazz clarinettist Don Byron's CD, A Fine Line, and has been touring with him as well. She's also had the good fortune to appear in television shows, including the Ken Finkelman series Foolish Heart, her own Bravo! special, and the CBC/Rhombus special Youkali Hotel.
