The Queens Museum of Art and American Express are pleased to announce the schedule for the third season of Passport Fridays, the museum’s FREE annual outdoor summer festival of international music, dance and film. Set against the backdrop of beautiful Flushing Meadows Corona Park and the majestic Unisphere, Passport Fridays will take place on Friday evenings in July and August, 6:30 – 10:30 pm.
Beginning on July 6, this year’s journey around the globe begins in Mexico and includes stops in Brazil, Colombia, India, South Africa, Tunisia, China and Korea. Each evening begins with live dance and music performances followed by the feature film screening after sunset. In addition, the museum’s galleries will stay open until 8:00pm and kids can enjoy free art workshops between 6:30-8:00 pm.

The Velez’s, a typical middle-class family from Bogotá, Columbia, buy their first car in an attempt to move up the local social ladder. After the father accidentally gives away a winning lottery ticket for a new car to the neighbors, the Velez family decides to save face and buy their neighbor’s old car--a 1950´s cherry red Chevy convertible--spending their entire nest egg.
