After enduring immense hardships during the Second World War, an eighteen year-old girl is sent to Southeast Asia in search of a better life. As with most immigrant Chinese in Singapore, Chinatown was the first place she set foot on.

Follow the vivacious and wholesome young Ah Qin as she discovers classic forms of traditional street entertainment.
