PARTY AT ST. MIKE’S TO CELEBRATE 25-YEAR ANNIVERSARY, JUNE 12-14

Freddy Jones Band to Headline, with Hairbangers Ball and Mike & Joe in Tow

For the 25th consecutive year, Party at St. Mike’s will shift Chicago’s summer festival season into high gear with three nights of heart-pounding live entertainment, June 12 through 14 outside of St. Michael’s church in Old Town. Music fanatics from far and near are invited to raise the roof on this typically quite residential nook, with Chicago uber-group Freddy Jones Band hitting the climax on June 13! Legendary 80’s cover band Hairbangers Ball will rock out of the gates on June 12, while Mike & Joe cap things off with an exclamation mark on June 14!

The Music
Bringing a steady diet of riveting crowd-favorites each year, the 25th anniversary celebration is set to top them all with top-billing going to world-renowned Freddy Jones Band on Saturday night. Although the name may be deceiving, Time Well Wasted, the first new album (released on April 14) from FJB in 10 years, shows the band’s eagerness to reclaim their title in the Two Name Band arena. St. Mike’s revelers can count on grooving to plenty of FJB classics as well as some long-awaited new tracks. Ready to ignite the St. Mike’s crowd with 80’s rock lore, as always, is Hairbangers Ball on Friday night; and Mike & Joe play beat to more contemporary tunes while closing things out on Sunday. The Atmosphere
Party at St. Mike’s is the same weekend and just blocks away from the Old Town Art Fair, making this ‘the’ destination in Chicago for music and fun. Spicing things up at St. Mike’s are the vendors, who peddle everything from tasty local dishes to ice-cold beer to wine and sangria. To top it off, the ‘gaming tent’ will play host to spirited games for the big kids like BAGGO and BINGO (Sat & Sun 3p-6p www.bagsontap.com).

The History
Founded in 1852, St. Michael in Old Town is an integral part and celebrated monument in the community. Once a year for the past 24 years, St. Michael's campus has been transformed into a wild neighborhood festival scene, enjoyable to any age group looking for a rockin' good time!
