Participation is at the heart of thriving local communities, vibrant nations and a healthy planet. But a new player is starting to be important: you. While campaigning organisations are creating opportunities for more people to be involved, ordinary people are also acting independently on their concerns as 'new' media removes the barriers.
This event if for anyone working in or with campaigning. It will explore:
* The importance of participation in campaigning
* Different visions of what is possible
* Current leading best practices
* Real and potential impacts
* What campaigning organisations can learn
Speakers:
* Ricken Patel, Avaaz
* Brian Fitzgerald, Greenpeace International
* Karina Brisby, Oxfam GB
* Sara Chamberlain, BBC World Service Trust
* Duane Raymond, FairSay
Cost: £100 for not-for-profit organisations
