The electro swing pioneer, Parov Stelar, brings his full band to the UK for 3 live dates in May and June following sell-out shows at the London Forum and Koko in 2012. The gigs in London and Manchester come hot on the heels of their new album ‘The Invisible Girl’, released on Etage Noir Recordings on March 22nd.
Parov Stelar Band kick things off in Manchester on Monday 30th May at The Academy, followed by two back-to-back dates at the London Forum in Kentish Town, NW5 (31st May and 1st June).
Austrian musician & DJ Parov Stelar has gained an enormous worldwide following for his unique brand of eclectic swing-tinted electronica, which has seen him release 9 albums in as many years, as well as his tracks appearing on more than 700 compilations (including Buddha Bar, Hotel Costes and beyond).
Inspired by styles and samples from the most varied of genres, combined with modern beats and grooves, his retro-influenced sound is translated into a live set by the musical magicians known as the Parov Stelar Band, who perform one of the most impressive live conversions of electronic music in existence.
Brass and rhythm sections accompany tour vocalist Cleo Panther in re-inventing Parov Stelar’s electronic beats and bites, while at the centre of the show is the creator himself, guiding the musical tour de force from the DJ booth. Even after hundreds of live shows and excessive touring, the band still continue to push their own creativity and break the boundaries of free-styling musical excellence, with each show uniquely different from the last.
A popular contributor to film, TV and ad soundtracks, Parov’s ‘Chambermaid Swing’ was recently used in a Bacardi commercial and ‘Booty Swing’ was used to TV advertise the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
