Interactive ParkPalooza Event to Highlight National Parks
Rock wall climbing, magnetic fishing, biking, and watercolor painting are just a few of the hands-on activities planned for children at ParkPalooza 2009, a two-day free interactive event on the grounds of the Gateway Arch in September. The event also will feature live bison, jazz musicians from New Orleans, an archeology area, a giant Mississippi River aquarium and more. Activities are designed to celebrate of the fun, education and recreation offered at America’s national, state and local parks across the country. National Park Service rangers from the Arch, as well as those from state and local agencies, such as the Missouri Department of Conservation, the Department of Natural Resources, area commercial institutions and local organizations, will share information and assist guests during the event. Admission is free.
