The Parker Arts Council Opens its 2011 Season!

Parker Arts Council opens “The Kitchen Witches” an award winning comedy by Caroline Smith. Parker Arts Council opens their exciting 2011 season with Caroline Smith’s whirligig, award-winning comedy

“The Kitchen Witches” performing Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, February 25 through March 6, with an opening night special on Thursday, February 24. All performances will be staged at the Mainstreet Center,19650 E. Mainstreet, Parker.

Directed by Lorraine Scott, the production stars Kathi Baerns as Dolly and Laurel Neher as Isobel, twoarch rivals on the TV food network, who find themselves improbably teamed up on the same cooking show, produced on a shoestring budget by Dolly’s son Stephen, played by Doug Tisdale Jr. What happens when the two women attempt to cohost in front of a live “studio audience”? Let’s just say there’sdouble double toil and trouble that conjures up a wildly funny show with laughs galore. Think: Martha Stewart collides with Jerry Springer! Nina Minary rounds out the sterling cast, playing Roberta, the camera woman.

Friday and Saturday performances, as well as the Thursday special, are at 7 P.M., with Sunday matinees at 2 P.M. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and students.
