Paris: City of Light
Jerrilynn D. Dodds, Distinguished Professor of History and Theory in the School of Architecture, City College of CUNY.
The palaces and streets of Paris and its gardens, squares, and cathedrals are the expression of a brilliant and dramatic history. Monuments like Notre Dame and the Louvre not only embodied the vision of kings but also served as the breathtaking settings for coronations and battles, massacres and balls, and tournaments and revolutions.
