Parent-to-Parent Communication! At Habitot Children’s Museum November 10, 2010

(Berkeley, CA) November 10, 17, & 24 2010 –Habitot Children’s Museum is offering FREE Parent Support Groups on the theme of Parent-to-Parent Communication on November 10, 17 & 24 from 6:00PM-7:30PM at Habitot. From the moment of a child's birth, the communication skills between parents are put to the test. Each person brings his or her own thoughts, feelings and ideas to the task of parenting along with her or his own individual upbringing. It is no wonder that when faced with the momentous (and sometimes daunting) challenge of raising a happy & healthy child, parents frequently find themselves overwhelmed and at a loss around how to work together. Parents will be able to share their concerns, ideas and questions, and build their parenting skills, in this professionally facilitated 3-week series.
The facilitator for the series is April Edinger Hamilton, MFT, is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and has been working in the field of early childhood mental health for over 10 years. She is currently employed at West Coast Children's Clinic in Oakland and also has a private practice in Albany. Her approach to working with children and families is based in attachment theory as well as play-based learning.
