The self-described "bar-brawl" music of papertrigger was primarily the outgrowth of Chris Manglos, an avid piano player/songwriter from Syracuse, NY. Syracuse was also home to Brian Dwyer, Andrew Honess, Adam Smith and Joshua Taylor - childhood friends that would one day form the full lineup of the band. Throughout high school, the aspiring musicians - all influenced by the likes of Ben Folds Five, Stevie Wonder, Radiohead, and the film sneakers - exchanged ideas and played music together frequently.
In the summer of 2006, the band moved to Philadelphia, fleshing out an eclectic mix of epic, jazz tinged rock songs. Likening their live shows to an "indie-opera" by some, their distinct music and theatrical performances generate fans and engage audiences wherever they play.
