The Northfield League of Women Voters will moderate a panel discussion called "What is the Future for Family Farms?" held in conjunction with the "Family Farms: A Tribute" art show.
This discussion is Monday, Jan. 30, 7-9 pm at Northfield Arts Guild upstairs meeting room, 304 Division St in Northfield. Members of the panel are Dave and Flo Minar of Cedar Summit Farm in New Prague; Paul Liebenstein of Wolf Creek Dairy in rural Dundas; John Zimmerman, turkey grower in rural Northfield; Thom Petersen, Government Relations Director for Minnesota Farmers Union; Susan Stokes, Executive Director of Farmers Legal Action Group; and Duane Alberts of Minnesota Farm Bureau Board of Directors.
The group will adjourn to the exhibit in the main gallery, "Family Farms and Rural Communities," for refreshments and meet with the artists. The exhibit is sponsored by Minnesota COACT, Minnesota Farmers Union, Land Stewardship Project and Clean Water Action Alliance.
