This panel discussion will cover the ethics and aesthetics of the documentation of disaster in photography and visual arts. The panelists will take a historical look at disaster coverage on the Minneapolis Riverfront, and explore the role of the documenter, ethical implications, ownership of images and the notion of truth in images. On the panel will be Mark Neuzil, Professor of journalism at St. Thomas University, Robert Silberman, Associate Professor of Art History at the University of Minnesota, and Stormi Greener, photojournalist for the Star Tribune. The panel's moderator is Judith Martin, Professor of geography and director of the Urban Studies Program at the University fo Minnesota.
