The University of St. Thomas Center for International Studies will host a panel discussion, “Contagious Uprisings: Harbingers for Change in Tunisia, Egypt and the Region?” at 6 p.m., on Tuesday, Feb. 8, in Ahern Room of Crooker Center, 3909 Graustark.

This program will address the political uprisings in Tunisia and Egypt and examine not only their implications for political change within each country, but also prospects for a contagion effect to other parts of the region. Additionally, speakers will address current U.S. foreign policy and assess the American responses thus far.

Panelists are:

•Professor Richard Sindelar , retired Foreign Service Officer, adjunct professor, Center for International Studies, UST
•Aida Araissi, founder and Managing Director, Bilateral US-Arab Chamber of Commerce
