Aimed at:
Social scientists and health professionals with an interest in public health planning and management.
Seminar Focus:
This research seminar will review the experience of the H1N1 pandemic as a case study in crises and social order.
Seminar Content:
Informed by Strong's classic work comparing the early years of HIV/AIDS and the Black Death, this seminar extends the sociological agenda for investigating pandemic threats to human health and shows that infectious disease is a social problem as much as a clinical one.
