Constantly in the lab working on an arsenal of dance floor bangers, they’ve also launched two labels of their own: Heavy Artillery Recordings (Drum & Bass/Dubstep/Electro House) & 5 Star Records (Hip Hop/Battle/DJ Tools). Faust & Shortee produce drum & bass under the name Urban Assault and their tunes are constantly charting in the Top10 listings, some of which holding the 1 spot for weeks at a time. HULK:
Hulk is a collaboration of two creative minds that share a similar production style and enthusiasm for heavy bass driven music. After meeting at the 2009 Winter Music Conference in Miami, they began to send files back and forth to collaborate on projects in Dubstep, Hip Hop and Electro. Since the inception, Hulk has been catching the eyes and ears of artists such as The Glitch Mob, Dieselboy, Reid Speed, Reso, The GasLamp Killer, High Rankin, iwrestledabearonce and DJ Lord of Public Enemy, among others.
2010 saw Hulk’s first official release, dropping on Reid Speed’s Play Me Records as a Beatport Exclusive. Forthcoming releases on Foulplay, Shift, and Play Me Records are already creating a buzz around the duo. What’s more, the recent launch of their own record label, BroTown Records has the scene begging for the slated releases to drop, featuring tunes by Veelk, Bukez Finezt, Rsk, Lonestar, as well as tunes by Claw, Richie August, and Hulk themselves.
HELICOPTER SHOWDOWN:
Rinsed heavily by Rusko, Reid Speed, SLUGGO, CALVERTRON and more, their Debut EP “The Wrestler” [Ultragore] made home to Beatport’s Dubstep Top 100 Chart with the title single in the Top 10 for 3 weeks.
The next releases “Hostages” [Ultragore] (collab with SLUGGO) and their freely available “Dramatron”, “Beat Down” [Squitty Bubbler], along with the classic "Whistle Tips" [Dubsaw] (collab with Point.blank) have each received similar fanfare and critical acclaim, and have helped them earn the incredible support of the powerful Dubstep blogosphere.
Forthcoming releases on Play Me and Ultragore have these boys primed for bass music domination. Expect to see collaborations with Calvertron, Boy Kid Cloud, Mark Instinct, SLUGGO, Hulk, and others as well as an original EP and more free releases =)
SUBLO:
Seattle native Jerel Bromley aka Sublo began his musical career training and performing classically on double bass for a decade. An ear for bass and dense melodic compositions lead to an obsession with dance music. Influenced heavily by the global dub culture, Sublo has spent countless hours crafting a unique and heavy sound which chooses to emulate little and resonate large. Signed first to Shift recordings in 2009, Sublo has become a key producer in the west coast bass movement, quickly signing onto Phantom Hz, Gradient Audio, and Hot N Heavy Recordings. A heavy DJ rotation has kept Sublo busy outside of the studio, opening for acts such as Rusko, Joker, Emalkay, DZ, and holding down residencies for Ritual and Redline crews in San Francisco. A keen sense of sound design and addictive melodies are the only expectation; the sound of Sublo has become defined by grimey keys and slapping percussion with a heavy sub bass that is sure to smash any dance
COMMODORE 69:
