3 Two-week Sessions will be held June 16-27, 2008; July 7-18, 2008; July 21 - Aug 1, 2008
If you are between the ages of 10 and 17, have an interest in photography and/or computers, are inquisitive and like adventure, then check out the Palm Beach Photographic Centre’s FOTOcamp 2008.
The camp is an opportunity to gain knowledge in all areas of photography, beginning with the basics of picture-taking using Canon SLR digital cameras and progressing to state-of-the-art digital imaging. Three 2-week sessions will be held June 16-27, 2008; July 7-18, 2008; and July 21 - Aug 1, 2008.
FOTOcampers are grouped by their level of experience, from beginner to advanced in each of three 2-week summer sessions. Each camper is issued a Canon digital SLR Camera and while exploring lens choices, lighting, and composition of photographs you will learn about photography and digital imaging, in a fun and fact-filled environment. Sessions in the computer lab will expose you to downloading images to the computer, saving and renaming files, burning cds, and creating slide shows. Using Adobe Photoshop and Elements you will learn image adjustment techniques such as color correction, compositing images, adjustment layers and layer masks and other digital imaging technology. The computer lab is set up so that each camper has access to a computer ensuring the ultimate hands-on experience.
Location shooting and photographic assignments give you the opportunity to practice your skills while acquiring new images. Each session includes field trips to local attractions, such as Yesteryear Village, CityPlace, and Wakodahatchee Nature Preserve.
General Information:
