The Palisade Classic Mountain Bike Race is in its second year and combines high desert riding on fire roads and single track with plenty of climbing. While the course does have it’s technical areas, it’s more of a middle and big ring course perfect for an early season warm up race. The ride includes incredible scenery, which if you can tear your gaze away from the course, will reward you with incredible views of the Grand Mesa, the Grand Valley and Mt. Garfield. Get ready to race hard, because there looks to be a very deep prize list with prizes donated from many of the hottest companies in the Industry including DT Swiss, Thomson, Moots, Reynolds, Rocky Mounts, Cateye, Titus, Voler, Hoss, Harlot, Dirt Rag, Maverick, Shimano, Santa Cruz and others. Expect to have some competition though, because many of the strongest riders in the Rockies use the Grand Junction area to keep in shape during those long winter months and many are sure to be in attendance.
