Horns and Harmony Featured in Bakersfield at the Rabobank Theater!
Enjoy brass music and vocal fun - from classical to swing and everything in-between! All this is offered by the Pacific Coast Horns, "The Singing Brass Quintet." This group has been featured in concert halls, at festivals and celebrations, on Holland America Cruise Line international voyages, and at Walt Disney theme parks. Programs include classical, jazz, Big Band, popular music, humorous melodies, and barbershop favorites.Performing together since 1985, the five members are Kurt Curtis and Evan Avery on trumpets, Mitch Mocilnikar on French horn, Ted Weed on trombone, and Charlie Warren on tuba. And yes, they all DO SING!
This lively group - a blend of top studio recording artists and some of the state's finest orchestral musicians -- has been featured in concert halls, like the Grand Ol' Opry, and at festivals, like the Monterey Jazz. They have performed on the soundtracks of several TV shows and movies, such as Glory, Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, Gettysburg, Hidalgo and Cold Mountain.
