Owen Pye's musical career began in junior high, when he first picked up a guitar and played in a cover band. It evolved and grew as Owen started high school. Things took a more serious turn when Pye joined the band "Cat, Jump!" By his senior year, Pye had left Cat, Jump! to test the waters of a solo career. Armed with an acoustic guitar and a skill for all things lyrical, he began to pen songs and book shows. Pye is embarking on a national tour in the spring to support the release of his album "If That's Cool With You."
Heroes and Villains is Ian D.G. Bennett, a 20 year old singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist who blends folk instrumentation with subtle melody, analytical introspective lyricism, and fragile plaintive vocals to create a sound worthy of broad comparisons to artists such as Elliot Smith, Jonathan Richman, and Stephen Merritt. He looks forward to his first release in February 2007 on Grizzly Records ( myspace.com/GrizzlyRecord ) featuring appearances by members of Zolof the Rock and Roll Destroyer, Katie Giese and the Polygons, The Paper Mulberries, and Like Lions.
