Kevin Graves has been mentoring Agile/Scrum teams for the past 2.5 years. The has been involved with 7 different teams and 150 sprints. Tonight, Kevin will be providing an overview of Scrum/Agile and compare it against traditional waterfall methodologies. He will also detail how the average day of a QA Professional changes when the team moves to a Scrum/Agile development methodology.
PROFILE: With over 20 years of IT management experience, Kevin has led several software development teams and projects using both Scrum and Waterfall methodologies. Kevin is currently a Software Development Project Manager working for a leading UK software development company. Previous to his current position, he worked at Rapattoni corporation where he managed a team of 45 software developers and quality assurance analysts at this leading Multiple Listing Service Provider. Kevin introduced Scrum at Rapattoni (http://www.rapattoni.com/ ) in late 2008 on one cross-functional team and then rolled it out to 5 other product development teams in early 2009. Kevin was also the CIO and SVP of Technical Services of Xytech Corporation, a software company providing ERP solutions to the media and entertainment industry. Kevin managed all aspects of Software Development, Project Management, Network Administration, and Customer Support. Kevin also spent 7 years at Paramount Pictures where he managed several different technical teams including the Help Desk, Desktop Support, and finally the Studio Applications Group.
Kevin holds B.A. Economics & Business from Westmont and M.B.A. from California Lutheran University. He also has the following certifications: PMP - Project Management Institute, Scrum Master, and Product Owner.
