Outdoorplay.com proudly presents the first annual "Paddle Benefit” – a fundraiser for First Descents.
Here is an opportunity to test your paddling skills as well as make a difference in a young adult’s life who has ever heard the words, “You have Cancer.” The event is easy; paddle either with a kayak or a stand up paddle board (SUP) from the Hood River Water Park around Wells Island, a distance of approximately 3 miles. Get your friends and family to sponsor your fun and give your paddling a purpose! All funds go to First Descents. First Descents is a non-profit organization providing free outdoor adventure therapy to young adults fighting, surviving and living with cancer. First Descents is committed to curing young adults of the emotional effects of cancer and empowering them to regain control of their lives by experiencing whitewater kayaking and other challenging adventure sports in a safe, fun and supportive environment.
And if that isn’t enough incentive for you to get involved, for every $25 you raise we drop a ticket in the kayak bucket giving you a chance to win a Brand New Kayak donated by Outdoorplay.com.
The Paddle Benefit event is Sunday, June 6th. Registration opens at 11am and the challenge runs until 4pm. Drop by anytime to participate in this great event and help benefit the children lives affected by cancer! There is a $ 25 minimum to take part in the Paddle Benefit. Kayaks and Stand-Up Paddle Boards will be available for free for participants on a first come first serve basis.
Be a part of this special day with sports, food, prizes and music as well as make an impact in a child’s life with cancer! We look forward to seeing you!
