Outdoor Finale of SAMA Festival September 23, 2007

SAMA will culminate in a fantastic outdoor finale which will showcase some of the most cutting edge British Asian acts, and bring the tastes, sounds and hustle and bustle of a busy Indian Market or Meena Bazaar to the banks of the Tyne, with its colourful vendors, henna and rangoli artists, rickshaws and mouth watering Indian food. Radio 1 DJ's Bobby Friction and Nihal will be hosting all the action from the SAMA Stage on Baltic Square with some amazing performances including Tiger Style Sound System, Rishi Rich Showcase, Bapi Das Baul, Bollywood Brass Band, Bollywood Dancers, Mass featuring the Masala Project and Indian Folk Dancers. The day will culminate with - The Tiger and The Emperor - a magical procession of musicians and street entertainers alongside a roaring Bengal Tiger, accompanied by fearless dancers, capturing the spirit and spice of South Asia!
