Outdoor Butterfly Gardens January 8, 2010

The outdoor gardens are specifically designed to attract butterflies at all stages of their lives. Shrubs, trees and grand colors provide shelter for chrysalids and roosting adults. Host plants, such as dill and maximilian sunflower provide egg-laying sites. And, of course, the colorful flowers are a nectar source for local butterflies from May - October. The gardens also contain primarily sun- and drought-tolerant perennials that are perfect for Colorado's climate!
