This lecture, hosted by Jason Kendall, NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador for New York City, features the astonishing new views from the Solar Dynamics Observatory, NASA's mission to the Sun. The Sun is no ordinary place; a million times bigger than the Earth. Its storms cause power outages and aurorae here on Earth. SDO seeks to uncover mysteries too bright to look at. We'll also show a quick planetarium show, and we'll see what's up in our night sky. All NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador events are free, open to the public and family-friendly and suitable for ages 12 and up. There will also be free NASA handouts, posters and lithographs for everyone who attends.
