Celebrate the full autumn moon in the beautiful setting of the Dallas Arboretum. During the picnic hour from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., guests may sample dango and enjoy Japanese calligraphy, ikebana flower arrangements, and other Japanese cultural activities. The music and haiku program will start at 7:30 p.m., featuring koto (floor harp) and shakuhachi (bamboo flute) music, an introduction to haiku poetry, and Bon Odori dancing.
This is an outdoor picnic event, so bring a chair or blanket to sit on. Pay in advance online or at the gate (cash or checks only). Register Now!
Bring your own picnic supper, or order a Japanese obento (box supper) prepared by Tei-An Soba House and Sushi for an additional $18. Obento must be pre-ordered and prepaid with your event registration. Quantities are limited. Please include the number of obento you wish to order on your on-line registration form. No other food or beverage will be sold at the Arboretum. The deadline for obento orders is September 17. Order early!
