The Honors Program at Nazareth College presents the Fall 2010 Distinguished Honors Lecture "Golda, Goldilocks, and the Perils of Perspective" by Elinor Burkett.
Burkett considers herself a storyteller, and she has told her tales as a historian and documentary filmmaker, a reporter for the Miami Herald, and in nine books of non-fiction. Her film, "Music by Prudence", won an Oscar for best short documentary. She has been recognized for her writing with awards from the National Press Club and the Newswomen’s Club of New York.
Burkett holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh, master’s degrees from Georgetown and Columbia, and a doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh. Twice a senior Fulbright Scholar, she has lived and/or worked in 13 countries, traveled in another 50, and currently divides her time between homes in Zimbabwe and in the Catskills.
