Orthopedic Massage I: Upper Body, Neck and Shoulder March 30, 2009

Learn hands on orthopedic assessment techniques to reveal signs of common musculoskeletal injuries. Students will learn to match the physiology of the injury to the appropriate massage treatment and develop a plan of intervention, and to quickly adapt their approach to changes in the body. Students will understand concepts of stretching and strengthening to restore mobility and proper functioning. Cautions and contraindication as well as how to recognize when it is time to refer client for more specific professional diagnostic will be discussed.

Bring sheets, pillow cases, towels, blankets, massage oil or cream, and a pen.
